Camera Sambo (2024)
Single-channel video projection, digital video and direct animation on 35mm, mono sound, 7m looped. Mixed-media collage mural.
‘Camera Sambo’ is a collection of fantasy structures, psychic situations projected into symbolic images. They express an imaginary scenario- what would my experience be like if one day I woke up with an empty mind? It represents my pursuit of an extra-sensory reality that slays workaday patterns of consciousness, materialism and mammonism- to experience again, childlike, the awesome and awful forms which hide in plain sight.

Patricia Craciun is a multimedia artist seeking to reconfigure the filmic space as an oneiric dimension. She draws inspiration from that state of uncertainty and ineffable anguish which is the domain of poetry. Patricia believes that by playing with the physical properties of film we can rethink our relationship to the material world and cross into a different mode of reality.
batwings (2024)
Single-channel digital video animation, 5m loop. Large-scale mixed media collage.
batwings is a mixed media collage consisting of two assemblages of drawings, one on film and the other on paper. They are glimpses into an intimate mythology; a psycho-anatomical collection of dream echoes, which reverberate from the preliminary hallucinations, manifested by a two-year-old with high fever.
